Lake wins 17th straight district title

Clear Lake won its 17th consecutive District 24-6A girls’ golf championship this past Wednesday and Thursday at Galveston Country Club, shooting a two-day total of 698 for a 19-stroke victory over Clear Springs.

Brazoswood’s Madison Kidd ran away with the indivual title with a 147 total while Clear Creek’s Lauren Bentley was second (163) and Clear Springs’ Caroline Frederick was third (167).

Players on the Lady Falcon No. 1 team and their scores are Kari Bush (170), Macy Williams (172), Jocelyn See (179), Elise Tanzberger (180) and Stephanie Banach (182).

Creek’s No. 1 players and their scores were Bentley (163), Lauren Stovall (183), Ana Vallejo Herrera (186), Bianca Zamora (187) and Reecca Low (193).

Clear Springs finished third with a 733 score. Its No. 1 team included Frederick (167), Megan Fornwalt (183), Kaitlin Wykoff (190), Jasmine Lugo (197) and Bailee Rains (198).

Clear Falls placed fourth with a 752 total. The scores of its No. 1 team were Bailey Spatz (181), Jessica Hembree (185), Megan DeLeon (189), Grace Ehmling (197) and Shyna Antwi (199).

Clear Brook’s No. 1 team placed fifth with a 794 score. Its players’ scores were Mary-Ester Torres (196), Samantha McClary (197), Morgan Little (205), Nikita Valluri (207) and Grace Perales (209).

Other top CCISD finishers included Raelee Wilkins of Clear Creek, 12th, with a 183 total; Maddy Runnells of Clear Lake, 13th, at 184; and Clear Lake’s Samantha Bruno, 15th at 186.

Other top finishers included Aubrie Sultzer of Clear Creek, 22nd; Jesserose Mireles of Clear Springs, 30th; Rylee Hargrove and Jaden Hughes of Clear Springs and Michelle Pardivala of Clear Creek, 31st; Lauren Morgan of Clear Falls, 35th; and Caroline Singletary of Clear Creek, 38th.

1st Team All-District: Madison Kidd (Brazoswood), Lauren Bentley (Creek), Caroline Frederick (Springs), Kari Bush (Lake), Macy Williams (Lake) and Jocelyn See (Lake)

2nd Team All-District: Elise Tanzberger (Lake), Bailey Spatz (Falls), Stephanie Banach (Lake), Megan Fornwalt (Springs), Lauren Stovall (Creek) and Raelee Wilkins (Creek)
